Yep, Jon, that's what we were told, too; use less water and less detergent, but I don't find anything in the manual about the amount of water used. And while I've repaired some GE, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, and Kenmore washers and dryers in years past, I know nothing about these new ones with all the digital displays and such. So this time I bought their extended warranty; something I don't normally do. A part of that warranty is that they will make a service call to perform "routine maintenance" once a year, so we have a service call scheduled for Wednesday. I'm wondering what "routine maintenance" is on a washer or dryer, other than keeping them clean and the dryer vent hose open.
