Talking about that little orange lever on the B2320 B2620 and B2920 HSD. Does it pretty well set whatever speed your going or does it vary by how the rachet slips in the whatever that holds the pedal down?

As soon as you hit the brake the cruise control is disabled right? I've read one account that you have to GIVE it more speed to THEN slow down, is that right? I would think as soon as you tap the brake the cruise would have to go off or there would be lots of busted garages.:)

I am sure a B owner will speak up, but on my L it merely sets a mechanical stop that provides a lower limit for the HST go-pedal ...it has nothing to do with the speedometer (or the tach, for that matter)...so, it's not precise, at all because it speeds up down hill and sags uphill ...and, no, it has no interlock with the brakes (which, in fact, I hardly ever use ...I just get off the go-pedal)...no garage damage yet.

The cruise on my B is merely something to use to rest the foot. Not precise at all. Slightly better than a joke.
The cruise on my L is a dream. I use it all the time, worth every penny.:D

The cruise on my L is linked to the hydro pedal and I can use it instead of the pedal (to go forward). Slow down or speed up however I like.

The cruise is not accurate at all on my B3200. The lever just holds it at slightly above full depth of the foot pedal. I vary rarely use it as better control with just the foot pedal.

I have very flat pastures. I set in on the B7800 series I have and go.

It's perfect for straight, flat work. I use it in high gear.

I hardly ever use my cruise control. It only has two settings that are useless. It does release when u tap the brake. On the bright side I love everything else about my B3200!

Only a guess, but the comment about give it more speed to slow down refers to hitting the hydro pedal to release the cruise. Then releasing the hydro pedal stops the machine. Technically I guess this is speeding up, but it's pretty hard to notice it on the tractor. The cruise control really isn't all that useful, though I do use for long straight runs when mowing.

my (L) cruise doesn't release when you further depress the go-pedal...which makes sense because you can speed up above cruise setting as required, just as in your car ...only way to release it is to release it ...it is not (not) connected to brakes ...as stated above, it is just like a hand go-pedal that stays set.

The CC on my B7500 has a couple spots for settings rather than something that's infinitely adjustable. The Ford 1210 (that is still hanging around 10 years after being "replaced" by the B7500) has a CC that is much more settable. in that it can be set to whatever speed you want.

As a side note, if all goes well the dealer will be stopping in tomorrow to drop off a new L3200 and take the old faithful B7500 away in trade. The 1210 will remain behind yet again. Wifey suggested we hang onto the Ford and its beat up 60" deck for trimming.
