I second the yellow plastic clip insulators, I have some and they are still up after 10 years.
If your fence charger is rated to deter predators, I think that is also roughly the same as the current needed to burn weeds...my reason for mentioning that is I would run a 2nd wire about 6" off the ground around the outside. Burning weeds saves a lot of chasing shorted wires. A number of predators approach nose-first following scent trails, and it can help to zap them early.
