My first thought: Sell the whole lot and pile everything into a
BX2350 with a 60" deck. Great mow...easy to use...easy to take off the FEL...easy to mount a realatively inexpensive rear-mount snowblower...power steering (awesome)...too many good things to list.
I may eventually do that. I just got a good deal on an '98
B7100 HST (last year) to replace my '80
B7100 (gear drive), so I'm at least upgrading to hydrostatic, which will make my FEL work easier. I think for the duration of the current round of projects, having separate machines for FEL and mowing will be a good thing. I will definitely consider replacing both the just-acquired
B7100 HST and the G1800S with a
BX1800 or better down the road after trying one out. At this point, I have a lot less into both of my machines than a
BX2350 would run me, but with the economy going in the crapper, there may be some good deals on the used market
Of course, I'm quite happy with what I have. My wife won't "make" me get rid of my tractor, she'll just "suggest (repeatedly)" that I do so. If I trade both for a BX, I could just call it a "riding mower", and not a "tractor" -- yeh, that's the ticket.
