Yes it wil spin the pto shaft momentarily, only as long as you hold the button in, it is specifically just for pto shaft alignment, that is why it is OUTSIDE the cab on the fender.

That is incorrect. It is there to run implements like a post hole digger. That’s is it’s purpose. I have the same setup on my 1835M and it’s explained in the manual. It is NOT there for PTO alignment and you should never put your hands near the PTO with the tractor running.

With the tractor off, you can turn the shaft by hand if you move the PTO lever to the left of the seat to allow it.

Not the case on my Massey

I hold the button until the PTO engages and the it stays on. When I hit the button again the PTO stops spinning. This is how I use my chipper and logging winch without a brick on the seat

Thats interesting that is what I was told by my dealer, but have never actualy used it, another piece of miisinformation I was given I suppose.
I will have to check that out further and play with it when I take the backhoe off and put the snow blower on today.
And I can manually turn my PTO output shaft as long as the PTO lever is a neutral. And I apologize if I passed along some misinformation that I was given.
