Moving bottom part of tree with root ball still on it. I use pallet forks for all my non-grappling "grappling". I've always wanted a grapple but for the little grapple type work I do I think it makes more sense just to use forks or the big bucket or the stump bucket or the regular bucket... wait a minute, if I wouldn't have bought all those other things I could have afforded a grapple!!! :confused3:

I'm not sure why you hate a chain--- so much.

I don't hate chainsaws, I have owned a few during my lifetime.

I just don't need one now.

This is what I use if I need to cut off a tree limb.

OK I will get the thread back on the no grapple track. :)

Backed the cedar tree cutter up to a double trunk tree, made the cut, but it fell on the ROPS and brushguard.

Could not drive out from under it.

Walked to the shed and got the no grapple TORO and picked up the tree.

That's why ALL tree shears should have an additional set of jaws up about 3ft from the cutters so they can hold the unbalanced tree and prevent that.

The big professional loggers do just that. From a distance you wonder how the hand feller can be so accurate. When getting up closer you see it is an automated feller. Then there are the feller/bunchers that take many at a time.

Speaking of a "feller" trying to fell a stump.

Well, looks like I can add to the thread. Yesterday's fun. Got about an hour of seat time in before one of the kids got nipped by the dog. uploadfromtaptalk1455542604688.jpg

That guy is about the dumbest guy have ever seen. What did he expect to happen when he climbed on top of the tree and attempt to shake it down?
