How to load a grease gun ?

   / How to load a grease gun ? #51
To fill the grease gun from a bucket you stuck the end into the grease and then slowly pulled the plunger back filling the gun. Then the plunger was shifted to the side to lock and hold and the head was screwed back on the gun. Frequently during this operation the handle would come unlocked and it was cleanup grease time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For many power guns the grease still comes in buckets but the gun is mounted on the bucket.

The only problem I found with the "sucking it up" method, was only half a greasegun load, pulling the lever out a few "clicks" and "spooning" the grease in, then pulling the lever out a few "clicks" more until the gun was filled, always worked better for me, still a messy job though. Then the necessary bleeding of the greasegun every now and then to get rid of air that was trapped.
Good old days Ehhhhhhh... NOT!

I am really embarresed to ask this question but how do I get the coupler onto the zerk? I've tried to just push it on but it doesn't seem to go.

I've narrowed down the possibilities in my mind to these.

1. I've got the wrong coupler for the zerk. Bota BX 2350 60" MMM
2. Bad coupler.
3. Incompetent inexperienced operator. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Can someone tell me how to do this?

Thanks, Shermers

If it's new and tight, sometimes they can be hard to push on, or to pull off. Try loosening that coupler; i.e., unscrew the end of it a bit and it should go on easily.

I've had that problem on a couple occassions. On mine, there are three independent little "arms" just inside the working end of the coupler. These hold the coupler tight to the zerk itself. Every once in a while, one of these arms gets folded down so the coupler will not attach to the zerk. I just push it back with a small screwdriver and life is grand again... Good luck!
