I have one like that and also a few lever action jobs. The pistol grip one is great because it frees up the other hand. Bought mine used at a flea market for $5.00.

I did exactly that the first time I loaded one up. It pumped grease for a couple of pumps, then stopped. Must've been an air bubble or something. I figured something was wrong and unscrewed the top. Duh. I don't know how or why, but the entire tubefull of grease shot out of the gun and actually landed as a blob right in a garbage can. Whew!

My question is removing the end of the hose from zerk. I can't tell you how many zerks I've pulled out of their home.
I've tried several guns as well, all seems very hard to get the end seperated from the zerk.
Any tips? should the pump lever be fully opened, fully closed, or does it not matter?
Ive tried twisting, pulling, angling, I just can't beleive there is not an easier way to get them seperated.

The connector that goes over the Zerk should be adjustable.:thumbsup:

78 posts in 4-1/2 years, this was started in 2006, and if you'll notice for some reason most of them are doubled...weirdAre there really #78 posts (now79):laughing: on how to load a grease gun!??!? Really?
