for a rider I will dump half a bottle in or the whole one. Its relatively expensive but like in the case of one of my riders a carb kit is like $60 so I will try it.
for old school carbs that are like $10 to 15 for a kit I would just rebuild the thing if it does not smooth up in a tank full of fuel. But they are mowers and many of them will run rough, it wont hurt them a bit.
