How to secure tractor while operating PTO generator

Hook a fence charger to it. Wrap the grab handles in tin foil and heat them up. Did that to the trash cans many years ago when I lived in town. The kids quit dumping them. (Back when trash cans were metal)

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes it is a serious question. I don't want to leave the tractor unattended if the power is out etc.....

I'm afraid a child will bump the tractor in gear, get hurt by the PTO etc....

The harder the access, the older the kid that finally defeats it....If there is no one home why not just shut it down.....
How do you stop someone from climbing on and driving away?

I'd like to keep it running if I run to the store or something but I guess it is not out of the question to shut it off etc.

The tractor lives in the garage therefore no one can climb on it and drive away.

I wonder if I could leave it running in the garage and hook up an "extended" exhaust to route the exhaust outside.

Manganos....I was wondering the same thing with my tractor and PTO generator...I would like someone to comment and give us feedback on what would be wrong with running the tractor in the garage as long as we had an extension clamped to the end of the exhaust and routed outside...With a diesel tractor I don't see the harm but I'd sure like some opinions especially from the safety police around here..:)

I find it hard to beleive that there is that much concern about it being driven away.

That said why not just chain the back wheel together or get one of those steering wheel clubs?

By securing it I also meant keeping people/kids away from the rotating PTO. I had a friend who lost a leg, arm and half his face by getting his clothing tied up in the PTO. He had 40 years of tractor experience. I have two small children and while I've lectured them countless times about safety etc it only take one "ut oh".

I expected some good answers to my question. Not questions about my question. Shrug.

Shouldn't be a problem with a properly shielded PTO. If you are that uneasy about an unsupervised running tractor then the tractor shouldn't be running unsupervised.

Theres probably no sure fire way to secure the tractor and generator in the way you want short of keeping it in a locked building.
