Started the project. The tooth bar is great, thanks for the tip!!! It really makes quick work of most of the trees. Had a few that took an hour plus, to dig out with the back hoe. Need to get that steel cable choke though, Ive broken 4 straps pulling trees around. I will try to snap some pics tomorrow, before it rains the project out. Still not sure about chipping or burning. The pile is growing out of control, and its never going to burn right now. I may have to chip just to keep moving forward.

Let the pile grow. It's not your focus right now. Get the area cleared and seeded. Once that's done, you can then go back and deal with the brush. When that time comes, don't try to burn the whole pile. Instead, tear chunks out of the pile and feed them into the fire. Chipping is nice, but it's a time and labor burner. Besides, you can't chip stumps. They have to be ground.

Take a rotary cutter to what you can first. That will get a lot more than you think. Then start on the middle size stuff and do what you can with a toothbar/stump bucket or whatever. Make some brush piles and keep at it. Wait till the pile dries and the weather is right. A gallon of fuel oil or diesel and burn them. Chain saw for the stuff that is left.

I regularly burn brush and figured out a foolproof way to start brush piles w/o any waste oil or old tires. I simply use one of those chimney coal starters you use for grills. just leave an alcove under the pile with a board or something flat and get the lump charcoal going good (just takes a couple of wads of newspaper and a match) and dump it into the alcove. Add some dry timber onto the coals and in no time you have a blazing pule of brush.

I found this video and thought you might be interested. I know this is a big mower and tractor but I went over trees that were 15' with my little outfit - it was like driving through a forest.
