How's everyone doing with the SNOW

Re: Snow - I've been sick and confined indoors. SO we're leaving it. The kid next door did it for me one day and another the wife took the quad and plow to the driveway. When it gets warmer and I get healthier, I'll take the tractor and clean up and push back the snowbanks.

Yep. The *&%#@ snow.
I broke my cab window today by the tractor sliding sideways at the mailbox until the mailbox post hit the window. Happened because I got too close to the slope of the ditch. I was trying to make life easier for the maiman. Next time I will judge it better, Safety glass is expensive. Made myself angry but it could have been worse, as in rollover. I just cut her hard and shifted into High and gave her all the throttle. She popped out, thank goodness. :

I am glad you had the presence of mind to recover. Nice tractoring.

5" of shoveling snow blowing plowing what for me couple of hours.

I have about 4" sitting on my 1100' drive right now. I will get some breakfast and have at it. I also have to drag my sons out of bed to shovel the walks. That is the hardest part.

Came the closest to rolling the B26 as I ever have earlier this week. I was pushing the snow with a blade into the ditch when I slipped into the ditch. One front wheel and one back wheel. Maybe a foot deep. Which is no big deal I just use the hoe to lift myself out, I have slipped into that ditch before. This time as I lifted the back end up the machine tipped the wrong way. I did have the outriggers out. Thing is the out rigger went in the ditch and the machine kept going. Serious pucker factor with that one. It did stop but was leaning way over. At least 45 degrees. Climbed off, collected my thoughts and calmed down. I was able to lift it out using way more care.

Two morals:
Don't ever lift a backhoe with the hoe unless you have your outriggers out. Not on the ground but just above the ground. That is all that saved me and it barely saved me.
Get a block of wood or log if you are in a ditch. Put that in the ditch under where the outrigger will land as you get the wheel out.

I have operated a lot of equipment and done a lot of industrial rigging. I have a lot of respect for how easy my B26 can roll. You can take a lot of load and the machine is narrow. This one however caught me way off guard. No load and I almost rolled it.

Feeling lucky.

Glad you recovered, Don.
The puckermakers always creep up on you when you least expect it.
Now go get the bugle out of the closet and get boys outta bed.
"Boots & Saddles" might be appropriate.

Another 6 inches here. Thankfully we didn't get the predicted rain.

A fair amount of snow around here in Western Quebec. I have to go out two to three times per week to blow away that tenacious white powder.
Again, this morning, another six inches to clear on my my lengthy 3.1Km private dirt road. I need to get out to deliver some wood in the afternoon. Temperature should hover around minus seven Celcius in the afternoon. What a releif it will be compared to what mother nature has been "blessing" us with since January first...

Well I got the five inches of new powder plowed. Now for that roof with the ice dam.

Maybe 4-5 in. of powder here, not a problem. Just a part of the morning routine now, wake up, clear driveway, eat breakfast. Not sure what I'll do with the extra time when it stops snowing.

People that put skylights in a north facing roof over a bathtub should be taken out and shot. Just to improve the gene pool.:2cents:
