I think she is being held against her will.
Release her now, WaxMan.:smiley_aafz:

I think she was faking it, how could someone fall a sleep like that in five minutes, cell phone rolled up in her shirt:)

Thought you guys needed a break from all this snow talk, won't be long now, I think we lost more then half the snow on the ground today alone, here in CT.
Soon my neighbor will be up to her old tricks again, My tractor won't run.. could you please.. just a big tease. Hey if she can fake sleep I can stand there and pretend I didn't get there yet:) I think she just likes to see my new bigger Kubota with my stack fel knob.

You guys do know I'm full of **** right?

Waxman,
Thank you for starting this thread. It has made a miserable winter a little more tolerable.

George: No need to lose any sleep on my account. I was Navy nuclear power on attack boats. That is, unless you were at or near New London CT in '74. Then you may have a problem... See, we had this little 'ole primary coolant leak in the auxiliary machinery room that we flushed into the river instead of cleaning it up. So much easier that way.

Just kidding!!

Interesting about your arthritis. My shoulder was a big reason I got my tractor - the shoveling was killing me. That's also why I try to get so close to everything with Big Red (and end up feeding it to him). Less shoveling - less pain. But unfortunately, big repair bills.

Brother of the 'phin. I was in the New London/Groton area on various commands from "84-'95.

Hey WaxMan: I've got a serious question about your 'neighbor in the bucket' picture... What model is the tractor? I gotta get one of those if they attract that sort of neighbor. So far my tractor has only attracted old farts from my neighborhood.

You mean there was a tractor in that post????

That girl on the tractor is whats called 'bucket candy'.

Hey ecbaatz: Howdy shipmate! I didn't stay on the boats. I moved to destroyers in '75 and stayed there for the next almost 20 years. Lots more fresh air. :)

You're welcome. Well, it was started in Jan 2011 the last tough winter, maybe will bring it back to life again next year? That is if global warming doesn't change things, oh wait, not warming, what am I talking about that was before, when Al Gore was poor, I mean if the Climate changes.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A TARGET????????????? You do know there is only two types of ships in the Navy, SUBMARINES and Targets.

I did 20 day for day, went in 31 Mar 75 retired 31 Mar 95. And yes I am sorry to say I did spend some time on a target. USS Fulton AS-11. But is was in nuclear repair fixing Submarines.

Let us know if that ever works! Maybe someone else will try it!!

Back when I was twenty, single and employed it seemed to work alright. Married with children and a mortgage doesn't seem to work as well. ;)

LOL. My first 'target' was an escort destroyer out of Norfolk that was the test platform for the TASS system, which could find submarines hundreds of miles away. You guys were an open book to us. Call in a P3 and you're toast. TASS was so sensitive it could ID the sub by name. With special weapons in the ASROC launcher and mark 46 torpedoes in the tubes, we sure didn't feel like a target.

The real targets are the gators. My last ship was a big amphib. 400 crew, 900 marines and all their gear, flat out at 18 knots and no weapons except 2 3" deck guns from the 1930's. The ship - all 17000 tons of her - could have been sunk by an angry RIB boat with a 50 cal.
