I like your lights, bet they're neater looking than the optional ones. Lights being optional struck me as odd or is this the coming trend, three point on some tractors optional, pto optional, sure hope it don't catch on.
The HPX only has headlights, and they shine on the ground directly in front of the machine. No way to adjust them so I used shims to raise them up. Now they shine out in front where they should.
I have been looking at adding tail lights to my HPX. Is the pink wire mentioned in this thread under the hood or the bed? I printed the wiring harness and rear light kits from the JD parts pages. The wiring harness show a group of connectors under the bed used for options. One is listed as rear lights. I turned on the headlights and checked with a meter put could not locate a wire that went hot with the lights on. JD has two kits. One provides tail and brake lights. The deluxe kit adds hazard and turn. Base kit is $120 and the deluxe kit is $295.
The JD kits have a rocker switch in the kit. Wonder if that turns on the tail lights separate from the headlight switch? It is not the brake, turn, or hazard switch as they are listed as well. Wonder if anyone has installed the JD kit or has the kit on there HPX and might know about this rocker switch?
I had the stock tail lights installed on my HPX and they are wired into the same rocker switch you use for the headlights. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I was wondering if the stock light kit plugs into a connector I see under the bed or the kit wire goes the entire way up to the front and into that pink wire discussed or right to the light switch. Under my bed near the pass frame rail there are three connectors for options. On the parts page one of those is labeled rear lights.
Thanks for confirming those connections under the bed. Was hoping I could have tapped in back there.
My dad visits more often now but I think it has something to do with the HPX because it's never in the garage long enough to tinker with it.
