How do you reset the hr. meter on a Cub Cadet LT 1042 after oil and filter change?

I'm not familiar with that model, so I can't help you. But I never reset hour meters; just write down the current reading when I service a vehicle. I do reset the trip odometer on the car and pickup when I fill up with gas, but that's just out of habit since I never pay any attention to them anyway.:laughing: Some of our members use an indelible pen or marker to put the date and hour meter reading on the oil filter when they change it.

But welcome to TBN anyway. And if you go to the Cub Cadet L&G forum and ask your question there, perhaps someone can answer it, if the LT 1042 has a resettable hour meter.

If there is a way to reset the hour meter for a specified service interval, details will be in the operator's manual. If there is no mention of a reset, you don't have that capability.

I like the filters to be marked, with marksalot. Then I cut a label and put it on the dash ,close to the hour meter on my tractor.

ive never seen a resettable hour meter myself...its the only thing that tells you how many hours the unit has run. if they can be reset, all used tractors would have only 20 hours on them.
