HST Change

Personally, have a fluid analysis done. Sometimes the fluid needs changed, other times it doesn't. It depends on the environment. Clean filters doing their job adequately and not over heating the fluid, should be good.

The sniff or eye test is worthless. But in the end as stated earlier, you asked a loaded question. If in doubt, change it.

That's what I saw when I read the manual. The filter at 50 hours and fluid later. Just wanted to check my lack of brain most days.

Thanks all

With the amount of castings I've found in the first changes with two different tractors, I would change the fluid. Just cheap insurance in my opinion.

I had read a lot of stuff on TBN before doing t he 50 hour service and neglected to read the book. Engine oil and filter okay. Hydraulic filter which is a suction filter that gets everything going through the system okay. Then I pulled the hydro filter which filters the charge oil for the hydro. Amortization oil bath. Then I read the book. Hydro charge filter at 400 hours after draining all the oil. I would say go by the boo because my tractor had a super clean system but I have seen others post pictures of unacceptable crud in their system at first change so Kubota's quality control is suspect. It might not hurt to change everything.
