Is there anyone out there that can share a success story of finding just the right pan that fits between the rear tires of the BX25, fits under the hitch frame, and holds all the oil that will come out?

Not a BX, but I found with my B8200('80's version of the B2910) that if I jacked the tractor up just a few inches, I could just squeeze a 5 gallon paint bucket under the drain.

Maybe try that, or try cutting down a paint bucket till it fits?

I still only filled it 3/4 of the way, and popped the plug back in, so I could pout the oil in to my waste oil container. Then, I finished draining the rest of the oil.

I second the 5 gallon bucket trick. That is what I use on my B3030 and it works like a champ. It fits nicely under my tractor, if it didn't I would take a saw to it and make it fit, which I suspect you may need to do. It drains all my hydraulic fluid without overtopping, I put the cover from my new fluid on it, works perfectly, I then go to my dump and recycle it there, clean out the bucket and ready for the next change.

I guess it's not going to be the issue I thought it would be. I just looked up my current drain pan that I use and the manufacturer says is hold 4 gallons. So I guess I will be OK.

Now I just have to figure out how to neatly pour the new oil out of the 5 gallon SUDT bucket without spilling it!

Big ol' funnel. I bought the fluid in 2.5 gal containers with a handle and a small pour neck for this reason. Good luck. It will work out just fine.

Jeff or anyone else looking for a good HST fluid drain pan that will fit under a BX, look at the below paragraph posted by rdsaustintx (hope you don't mind) back in March.

"Here's the tip of the day for you guys doing first HST change. Go to Lowe's and find their black, shallow plastic bucket. It looks like a busboy tub, has plenty of capacity and fits *perfect* between the BX wheels. $5 or so."

I will be purchasing one of these soon since my 300 hour service is coming up.

A big funnel helps. If you have a clean 1 gallon jug, fill it first. It will be easier to tip and control your big bucket of fluid with only four gallons in it. The new bucket of fluid should have a spout on it.

The 1 gallon jug is perfect for topping off too. Mine is in a well marked reused windshield wiper cleaner jug.

I drive my BX25 onto ramps (about 10 inches), use the BH stabilizers to raise the rear and stick some jack stands under there...then it's really easy to get a 5 gallon bucket under...worked great...big funnel with long spout to pour.

Come to think of it, I suppose I could have backed up onto the ramps and used the FEL to raise the front and get jack stands under the front axles too...
