Kubota B7510
Today I decided that since I had removed my MMM to sharpen the blades it was a good time to also change oil and hydyralic fluid. This was the first time that I personnally did this. I purchased Kubota brand filters and fluids. When I changed the hydrualic fluid I ran into a mystery. I have a B7510 HST. I drained the fluid from the front and rear plugs. I removed and replace both filters and cleaned the strainer. The manual says that I should install 4.04 gallons of Kuboto hydraulic fluid, yet when I reached approximately 3.5 gallons the fluid over flowed the filler cap. I started the engine and cycled the steering, the FEL, the 3-point hitch, both PTO's and yet still the hydraulic fluid dip stick is showing WAY TOO MUCH fluid. What could be the reason? Should I drain some fluid out? Seems to operate fine.

I have a different tractor (L3400) so this may not apply... there are also two more drain plugs on the bottom of each side of the rear gear case, to drain the oil out of the lowest points in the tranny. If it's too full you should drain out the excess before operating it.

Did you change the filters?

There are two.

I did mine last year. I followed the guidance from Messicks.

I found the factory refill to be too much as well.

I drained using the rear plug to just over the top of the stick.

It has never leaked or used an ounce of fluid.

What a great tractor!

PM me if you need any help.

Cheers,

Rd

Just Curious did you measure the amount that you took out and compare it to the amount you added?

I think the B7510 only has two drain points. Yes, I changed both filters. No, I didn't measure the fluid taken out.

My B7500 hsd calls for 3.30 gallons of fluid and has 2 drain points near the mid pto .

The mystery is sovled!!:D As it turns out, on the B7510 HST there are a total of THREE drain plugs; one on the forward transmission case and TWO on the rear transmission case. I was looking at the manual last night when it when I realized my error. The manual is written for mutliple models and is sometimes a little obtuse. Thanks for all of the replies and GIG'EM!
