HST Wine, Not any more

I wonder if the folding ROP of BX makes this
sound although it's cut in to three pieces ?

Well , I'm amazed . Nearly all the noise has gone
with just the ROP removal . Now sounds just like
a JDX700 diesel ride-on !

I've drilled a 3/16" hole in each base plate and
injected in the whole 12oz can from one end
until it came out of the other ; 50 seconds ....
Just put it back and it's perfect !

I'm really glad that it worked out for you BUT Why a 3/16" hole? thats very small, were yuh scared? And one more thing, in that pic, there are two holes in the sub base plate. one dead center and one off in the corner that my tractor does not have what are they there for and what do they do?

Nice valley you got there here's a shot of mine.

Thanks for your photo ; it's good to see tractors with
some rolling countryside ! I went with 3/16" on the injection
side because that was a tight fit for that can nozzle .
Thought I'd start off the otherside with the same drill bit.
After drilling though ( and blowing some air to check )
I reckoned that was enough for the can-expulsion rate.
Started off spraying with the frame feet-up , and then
dropped it flat on the floor after tapping the metal for
an estimate of where the foam was.
There's nothing "straight-through" under those other
two holes in the base . Can't answer that one David.
Many thanks for this superb foam-filling idea.

Cheers,

Neil.

Maybe instead of foam you could seal any holes on your ROPS and then add a fill hole and a straw. You could then fill it with your favorite beverage. When the HST whine comes back it's time to refill or call it a day.

But seriously, I wonder if it's why the larger tractors have less HST whine since they have a different shaped ROPS. I wonder if you put a bungee cord around the upper section of a folding ROPS with it down if it would cut the noise down. I could be a way to test if it's worth your effort to fill it or not.

Glad to help, this solution don't cost much and it works, I figure $8.00 and thats a lot cheaper silence than what I have to pay when the kid has her so called music too loud and I unplug the stereo.
