Hurricane Irma

   / Hurricane Irma #111
News just said Irma will be the number 7 most powerful hurricane recorded to hit Florida. Number one is still the 1935 hurricane.

There is something seriously wrong with this Pope. He is anti Christian, pro Islam and openly accepting bribes to support Muslim refugees that are killing Christians. Now he thinks humans control the weather!!!!

He just knows that hurricanes are God's judgment on global warming deniers.

Disagree.

I'm not catholic, but this Pope seems to be the most Christ like in his position I've seen in sometime, other than worrying about lining the church's pocket and protecting child molesters like his predecessors (added the fact that this man admitted that even he can sin, wow, imagine that...)

You're the one who brought the Pope into this, not me:laughing:

And a tip for anyone in Irma's path: Roofs get blown off when there is a severe instantaneous drop in atmospheric pressure. The house simply explodes. Open the windows!

I went through a minor hurricane in Maracaibo where it occurred to me to throw open all the shutters when my ears popped. I'm sure that saved the simple corrugated iron roof. A minute later a sickening drop in air pressure, things got intense and some neighbors roofs went flying away. A house sealed up to modern energy conservation standards wouldn't stand a chance against a pressure drop like that.
Not that I have experience with this but it came up in conversation with my wife recently. I found this about it.
Should You Open Windows During a Hurricane?

This thread really is all over the place. :D

Anyone else stunned at build quality or, lack of, in the homes in Florida. Saw a home that looked like spray insulation was sprayed directly over wafer boards and painted. That's it! Not a wonder they got ripped apart in a hurricane.

Around here they frame up a new build, slap foil back insulation and slap siding on that, if one wanted to a utility knife is all you would need to get in the house.

A layer of vinyl siding, foam board, if your lucky to miss plumbing and electrical just a thin sheet of drywall and your in lol.

It's a joke, then you hear stories on the news where homeowners have black mold growing behind there siding and all kinds of crazy crap, those houses won't last 30 years.
