I have posted a couple times asking advice on chainsaws as I have about worn out my Husqvarna 345 after 15 years. I whittled down my choices, with reviews and advice from you guys, to the 435. Give me the good and bad. Occasional use-10x a year, mainly small trees and limbs. Light firewood cutting as it does not get very cold here. No need for me to buy a pro grade saw for $500+. My 345 gave me good service and will now be my back up saw. Thoughts on the 435?

Looks like they have 440 Factory refurbs for $180 from Northern. pretty decent deal.

I just bought another Husky 350 for $178 on Ebay had a fuel leak the ad said- just needed a new fuel line.

With the Virus thing I am going to tear down my dads old 350 (that I did a muffler mod to and cylinder drop to maximize compression/. and install a flat top piston and see how much more power i can get out of it.

Took both saws out today and ran them back to back on a downed Pine. The modded saw definitely out cut the new ebay saw.
Once I finish my old saw will mod the new one to.

Is the 435 going to have enough power to keep you happy? from what I read it is 2.2 HP which is about .8 HP less than your 345

Didn’t think of that really. Almost 1hp different, which may be a lot in a small engine. The 435 seemed most comparable to my 345.

I have had a Husqvarna T435 chainsaw for 2 years that I simply love. Super light, plenty strong. Not only great for pruning but also a good go-to saw. Light enough to use one-handed if necessary. It has totally replaced my old Craftsman 18" saw. I had it for a couple of years now; used it to cut down probably over 1,000 scrub trees for chipping.
Now, I'm not doing any real forestry work, nor cutting firewood for a living. The T435 is sold as a pruning saw, not a heavy duty workhorse saw. But for my use, it fits the bill perfectly. I'd say anything under 10" tree its ideal.

I’ve had my 435 for 4 years and have no complaints. I also have a sthil ms 362 I bought for felling some large ponderosa pines for a power line up to our property. For general firewood use, I grab the 435.

With this kind of usage (probably typical of a home owner), I cannot understand why anyone would ever buy a gas powered saw again. The Stihl MSA-120C is a GREAT one. The wife wore out 2 Kobalt 40v ones. They're in factory fix now and not for sale; so, we went with the Stihl. I'm not allowed to use gas powered anything close to my chest, and my wife cannot start them.
