There are 2 theories to why the filters are on so hard from the factory:

1. They put the filters on while the paint is still fresh, and it dries/hardens sealing the gasket.

2. They let Bongo the Gorilla put the filters on, and he gets paid in bananas, and thinks the harder he puts them on, the more bananas he will get.

1. The chassis is painted AFTER the filters are installed, the paint dries just like painting a window shut in your kitchen.
2. The filter oring or quad ring is not lubed before the install.

Yes, but not many wrenchs will fit on it. That is my pet pieve
