I built 2 of these this weekend. They are made from all 1/4" metal with the exception of the 5/8 bar for the top hook up. The plate is 12" by 19" it could be trimmed but I felt I would weight till its application. Notice the braces at the bottom for added strength of the bottom hookups.

Do you like your setup better than PT's adapter plate. I am trying to make an adapter plate for my older three point machine. but will have to use 5/8 in for my 1445. I just bought one of those motorized oxy-acetylene torch/machine that runs along a track. They say, that it will cut up to 4 in steel, and if a plasms torch is installed. it will cut all the light stuff to 3/4 in. The plasma will cut any kind of metal.

J.J. I don’t think my adapter plate is better. The added structure at the bottom is because I had ¼” plate and wanted to use it. I believe with that structure it will be comparable in strength with PT’s 3/8 adaptor plate. The extra 12 by 19 plate can be trimmed if needed when installed on what ever attachment it is to be used on.

That sure sounds like a nice piece of equipment you bought. We have a Plasma cutter at work and like you say as well as carbon it really comes in handy on stainless steel. I am really interested on how you come out on changing you hook up to the quick attach. Send us some pics when you’re ready.
