On my bx1500 fel the cylinder for the bucket has an o'ring on the shaft(shiny part) that is right at the end were the cylinder mounts to the bucket. Does anybody know what this is? It seems to serve no purpose. One side of it is painted Kubota orange. I can slip it up the cylinder when the bucket is in the dump position but when I move the bucket back up it just moves back down. I was thinking this o’ring was used to protect something on the cylinder during the paint process.
This is not a seal just a thing dia o'ring /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

That is the exact reason. It would be a lot better if dealers would take a couple of minutes to cut the o-ring and remove it, before selling a loader. You wouldn't believe how many have asked about those o-rings on TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Thanks jerry for the quick response. I suspected it was for that purpose. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
