Hyd fluid change B1750

Fellers,
The filter is off (and nasty inside), the drain plug is out(at the mid-PTO) and the old fluid is in a pan. So I says to myself: "Self, the guys at Tractorbynet say that there are multiple drain points,and probably a strainer screen".
After a crawl with light in hand, I am at a loss. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. The strainer (if equipped) is especially important - that's where all the big chunks of goo hide.

Andy, don't you have the Operator's Manual? It should show where the strainers are. I'll tell you to start with that I'm only guessing that it's much like the B7100 and B2710. There are two strainers; one on each side. From underneath, you should find a solid steel hydraulic line going down each side going toward the rear (but terminating ahead of the axle). They're low but on each side, not the bottom. The back end of each line looks like they put a ring or loop on the end of it at a 90 degree angle with a single bolt through that loop. I'm not sure of the size, but probably a 29 mm. Those "bolts" are the strainers. Unscrew and pull out gently and you'll find it's hollow with a screen on the end. There are two O-rings on each one and if you're gently with the job, you won't damage the O-rings and they'll just stay in place.

Did you notice bolt on the lower transmisson case,also bolt on the right rear side of the transmisson as you set on your tractor,if I remember right those should be remove for hyd to drain.
Sometimes you will notice a dab of paint on bolts heads and thats a good sign that its a drain port.

Thanks for the input. I don't yet have an owners manual,but I do have one on order.(Dollar short and a day late). Some of the bolts on the gear housings (4WD) are marked with a dab of red paint,but not on the tranny.

You say the drain plug is out? My B2710 has 4 drain plugs. I'm experimenting, but going to see if I can attach a scanned page from my manual that shows the drain plugs AND the strainers.

I'm not sure what I did wrong; very sorry picture, but maybe you can get the idea.

As I recall, there are two hydro drains with screens on the B1750. They are on either side of the rear axle. I seem to remember there were tubes running to them. Also, when removing the screens, there was interference with the mounting hardware for either the mid-mount mower deck or the the front loader, which meant the mounting hardware had to be loosen. I would check for you, but I now have a B2710.

There is a strainer in the suction line going from the transmission housing to the hyd. pump. If you will follow the on the top of the hyd. pump back to the transmission the screen is attached to the nut that you see that is secuing the line to the tractor.
