Hyd hose crimper tool?

Is there any kind of manually operated hose end crimping tool a fellow can get to make custom hoses. I looked at the automatic electric kind and got sticker shock. I'm alway changin' things on my tractor attachments on the weekend and a shop tool that I could make up hoses would save me time and gas going to town. I would need just 1-4, 3-8, 1-2 sizes small stuff. The field attachment ends are just otta sight cost wise also. bjr

The only reasonably priced one that I know of is from Discount Hydraulic Hose. Cost is about $1290. You really need something that will do the job correctly with the fluid pressures involved.

An alternative is to get reusable fittings but they are rather pricey. Discount Hydraulic Hose has them too.

Went through this last winter when I replumbed the loader hydraulics on my Ford 3000 also added hydraulic top link. Almost same question... Ended up carefully measuring and ordering new hoses from Discount Hydraulics. Decided the expense of the tool and cost of the fittings wasn't worth it.

Out of 14 hoses only had two that didn't work out the way I thought. Found a local hose and supply company that made up new hoses for the ones I messed up on. Discovered local prices on hoses, fittings and adaptors was competitave with Discount Hydraulics.

I haven't been in the position to need to make very many hoses for several years, but I have many hoses up on a press with a hydraulic jack. Surely someone still makes a press like that. If you find one, the largest part of the cost will be for the different size of dies.

DO yourself a favor and have them made. used to make them all the time when i was working and unless you have the correct fittings for the hose you are using and the proper dies you will cause yourself more grief and sorrow. just MHO

Your local NAPA auto parts store will make the hoses up for you at a reasonable price. Check them out.

We have one at shop like that we use for small hyd hose and synflex .. I will try swing by see what brand it is.

Re usable fitting are the way to go on DIY fixes and they can be reused multiple times.
I have my own parker crimper. If i had to buy one I wouldnt have it. Id just stock hose and reusable fittings.
