Some of you have leaks, and have had them forever.

Have you ever considered the amount of fluid lost in 24 hr?

Well, if you have a 10 drop per minute leakage rate, then, in 24 hours, you will leak out about .625 gal of hyd fluid or oil. If it leaks for 30 days, you will leak out about 18.75 gal.

Taking this into account, you can see why the pump is not pumping and the tank is low or empty.

So it doesn't take much to realize that the cost to operate can add quickly.

If you want to compute it your self, there are 30 drops to a teaspoon, 48 teaspoons = 1 cup.

Starting with that, you can compute the rate for any time.

good point JJ, most people will just let it leak, oil's cheap... and quick to add... taking it apart is a pain... FYI Sun hydraulics say that there are 15 drops in a CC, 4.9 CC in a US teaspoon, 48 US teaspoons in a US cup, 16 cups in a US gallon, so 56448 drops are in a US gallon.
so 10 drops per min-- 600 drops per hour--- 14400 drops per day= 960 CC's--196 teaspoons--- 4.08 cups---.255 us gallons It still adds up over the long run plus the mess in the driveway..
