I hope to post some pictures this weekend of the new Sims cab. It is different from Larry's axle wheel cab. The heater is behind the seat, and where the heater is on Larry's is a window. Overall very happy with it and I am glad I went with the Sims and not with Curtis unit.

Dang you Tom, between you and my future father in law bugging me to work on the hydraulic rotator for my BX snowblower, I had to put some time into it today. I feel like crap since I got this cold / flu Christmas day and it isn't getting any better. Look for my new thread showing the progress or lack there of.... Junk....
PS... if you want me to build one for you at the same time, let me know.......

Junkman,

I am gald to see that we have put enough pressure on you to get you moving on this project. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now in your spare time if you can work on an electric motor version let me know.... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I could probably cobble up a chute rotator for you without much problem, but an electric chute deflector would be a challenge that I won't take on until the summer, if then... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Junkman,

The reason I want to go with electric is I do not have a 4 way loader valve. I do not know how I would get hydraulic power to operate the chute without spending some big $$$ for it. Any suggestions? The way this winter is going for us, NO SNOW, it maybe next year before I try out the new Cab and blower. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I was looking at how the Kubota chute deflector is set up. It doesn't seem that hard to duplicate. It is just a linear acutator bolted to the side of the chute and to the side of the deflector. The biggest cost is the actuator. I've been searching ebay for some but haven't found the correct one yet.

There is already a thread on how to convert to an electric rotator. It involves a power window motor from a car.

I had ordered the brackets from Tractorsmart.com and when they arrived, I realized that they were designed for the larger cylinder. I had to reduce the width of the bracket pin holes to accommodate the smaller cylinder. I also had to cut 3/4" x 1/2" bushing to accomodate the smaller pins. Here is what it originally looked like and one bracket done. I removed this material by grinding after trying other methods. Nothing beats hand tools when you don't have a machine shop.....

Does anyone know what the pin diameter is on a stock bracket? 1"?

I bought an electric linear actuator on ebay for about $20 and installed a switch for 12v and a couple of carriage bolts for pins. Chute happens.
