Going to go ahead and change the hydraulic fluid in my L3710. Tractors and hydraulics aren't quite my forte.

There a go-to place for filters and stuff? Like a SummitRacing, only for tractors? I punch in the filters into Amazon and I get filters compatible with an L3710DT model; not sure with the DT means and if it'll work or not.

If I'm understanding this right, one drain plug by the...hubs on each wheel. Then one in the center. Drain it out and refill on the backend. I've got a Wood9000 slung on the back of it, so not sure if that's going to make access a pain or not. I'll have to check when I get home tonight.

Then oil. TSC is a few miles away. Just get oil from there? Any reason not to?

Thanks.

The DT means it's a gear drive tractor rather than glide shift or hydrostatic. Filters are cheap enough that I just use the ones from Kubota. I have a lot of money invested in my tractor and prefer to do my best to care for it. I have a hydrostatic transmission and am more careful because of that - well, and the fact it's still on warranty. I don't know about a Summit Racing for tractors but you can try Messick's or Rural King.

Yea, L3710HST is the hydrostatic like I have. I done derped on that.

NAPA had the filters. Be here tomorrow.

I would strongly recommend Kubota branded filters/fluids.Messic's if you don't have a dealer close.

Hmm - I thought DT meant gear drive too.

Amazon has a bunch of no-name filters. I'd steer clear of them. A good parts store like NAPA may be able to cross reference and get you some decent filters like Wix. But honestly the filters are reasonable pricing at the dealer, you know you'll get the right ones and they are the best quality you will find.

If you have a HST - I wouldn't run anything by the Kubota brand fluid.

Call me crazy but after eleven years I'm still using Kubota oil and filters. A few $$ saved is going to look pretty puny if things go south.

Got the fluid changed.

Question on capacity. Says 10.3 gallons.

I pulled both rear drive plugs and the one dead center. Got about 5 gallons out.

Started filling. I'm up to 9.5 gallons so far. And stupid me, didn't notice the sight glass in the back. I can't tell if the fluid level isn't reading yet, or if I'm bombed right by it.

Now, there were a few times that I broke a line off the plow, squirt out a bunch then. Each time I connect the plow it dribbles out a little. But still, the math isn't adding up here.

No idea about the previous owner either.

Was I really five gallons under at the start? Or did I miss a drain plug?

Alright, so I went and started draining. Got about 5 gallons out. There's the sight glass. I can see it registering now. Stopped what I was doing. Going to let is settle for a bit then go from there.

Man, where'd this ten gallons come from? I hit both rear hubs and the center one along with each filter. Barely got four gallons.
