I am about to trade my Norse mechanical winch in for a hydraulic winch. Anyone ever use a hydraulic? I am tired of pulling cords and running htem over and dealing with them in the cab. Any thoughts appreeciated.

I've never used one, but the people I've know that have them, love them. They're very strong and sure saves a lot of cranking.
If you have the hydro outlets, go for it. John

I built a hyd one and I love it .Rated 10,500 lbs. There is a picture of it somewhere in the forum of "Build it yourself". Do a search and you will probably find it.

The Norse hydro winch still uses a cord I believe to modulate the pulling.

I am still researching. I believe the remote hydraulic valve will operate the winches just like any skidder or dozer winch. I am just tired of two ropes, one for break the other for winch.

Sorry, the Farmi hydro winch still uses the cords.
