Was routing wires for work lights on top of ROPS and noticed that the lower bolt on the hydraulic pump was missing. Found the bolt on the garage floor earlier this summer but never could figure out where it came from. Guess I know now! That means it's been running this way for several months!

I several questions...

1. Has anyone ever had this happen?

2. Any good suggestions on checking the other bolt that's buried underneath the ROPS, fenders, and fuel tank?

3. What are the chances that the flange on the other side of pump is broken?

4. I've also been meaning to track down the source of a very slow hydraulic seep. Could this be the source of the hydraulic leak?

Thanks,

What type of tractor? How old? How many hours? When you say hydraulic seep do you mean you see leaking fluid or that your fluid level drops without an obvious leak?

Mystery bolt? Had that, just not from the pump.

SUggestions - Yeah, you should check them. Ha ha, I don't have any suggestions on how! If you can get your fingers on them or see them with a mirror, that may be good.

Could the flange be cracked? Yep - sorry!

The front seal could be leaking from the pump wobbling. Only way to check is to check.

Ooops, thought I put all that in the original post. Halfzheimers setting in.

The tractor is a 2004 BX2230 with FEL, MMM, and blade. Has about 200 hours on it.

By seep, I mean there is a thin layer of gunk on the bottom and right side of the transmission. When I've worked it for an hour or more there will be a small wet spot on the floor under it the next day. No standing fluid. Just a wet spot about three to four inches accross. Never had any running fluid or rapid loss. I've put about 1/3 gallon in it this season and it's still almost full. Within a quarter inch of full mark.

Also, I found the bolt for the pump wedged under wire loom beside it's proper home. The bolt I found on the floor earlier this summer is still a mystery bolt! Hope it's not the other pump bolt!

2. Fluid and gunk on frame behind right rear tire
3. Underside of transmission
4. looking up right side of transmission just behind lower fuel tank

Another picture with my pet monkey learning to drive the tractor. Second picture is the monkey learning to drive something a little more fun.
