Hydraulic quick connects /hoses getting very hot! flow restriction???

what do you mean 15 degrees going to heat? I know anything over 200 is not good for seals/components.. This is actually a Vermeer machine.. my mulching buddies with CAT machines are seeing temps over 230

The example was that 500 PSI loss @ 45 GPM across a component doing no work is introducing approx equivalent of 15HP heat in the system.

If the pump and mulcher motor are axial piston style the case drain temperatures are even higher that you reservoir temps.

Is it possible the flow was too high for the cutter so that was used to reduce it? Also do not make the mistake factories are perfect. I worked for industry company at one time and we had our failures. But we did do a good job of catching them before being sold as our machine were built and tested to higher specs than sold for. Not sure many industries have that kind of margin to do so today.

I think I am going to remove the nipple in question and also quick couplers. Once I do that the lines will be the same size all the way to mulcher motor..
