Got a deal on a 3-point fencepost driver. You raise it hydraulically, when you release, it goes down as fast as possible.
To vent that fluid ASAP, it's got a 1" dia return line.

Wondering if there's a place on the 5510 to add a port to dump directly into the hydraulic reservoir?

Most plumb it into the hyd fill (remove the fill cap and add return line)....

Thanks. Will pursue. Also pondering if we can use it to split firewood....

There is a tank port on top of the transmission housing. You can tee into it. It is BSPP thread so you'll have to order the fittings if you don't have a dedicated hydraulic shop nearby. The return to tank line from your loader valve will be running to it. I'll try and take a picture of it later this evening when I get home and post it back here.

Circled in red. This is being photographed from the right side imagine it directly below the seat.
It’s not under pressure so you could cut this hose and tee it with a brass or stainless hose barb tee and run a short hose to the back to connect to your pounder.

Looking at it from rear it is the line in red. Just remove your seat pan and you will be looking right at it.

The dk45se had backhoe overheating issues in some heavy use instances, Kioti issued a fix for this, which involved repurposing the transmission case fill/vent, as the new remote circuit fluid return port, which allowed for less restriction in fluid return than the built in remote return. It worked well, and reduced fluid temperatures quite a bit during heavy operation.

Below is a screen shot of the kit and part numbers. Important note is the new breather vent location, as the old fill/vent is now in service as a quick connect return port. Perhaps some of the methods or parts may be useful for your NX.
