Brand new PRINCE DRV-2LL. Cushion valve or double relief valve. Use to stop or minimize surge, shock and overload in hydraulic circuits. Install between control valve and motor or cylinder. Bypasses to opposite side to prevent cavitation.

Yea, those don't work on a da cylinder. That is a typical crossover valve. When trying to compress the cylinder, it just flat don't work. When trying to extend, its effects are limited as it will draw a vacuum on the base end. Same principals as the discussions we have been having about cylinders drifting.
