I'm in need of a hydraulic top link (HTL) for my new tractor. The tractor is a cat II setup. When I bought my HTL for my cat 1 tractor there were 2 sizes avalible, the difference was the stroke length. I bought it from CCI. Is that the same for the cat II? Or is there just one size?

Does anybody have the sizing on their HTL for cat II open and closed lengths?

Not sure if it matters but the tractor is a New Holland TN70DA.

I had a TN65 a couple of years ago and bought a tilt cylinder from Prince Direct outlet store.
Measure your top link to get dimensions closed and extended to get an idea what length you need.

Derek, here is the HTL I bought from Baileynet.com. It's a Cat II cylinder and I had to add bushings to get it down to my Cat I size. The extension is 10" and that's overkill for my tractor.

Chief HTL

Prince Direct also has one thats a little shorter on their home page right now. It's about 1" shorter on retracted length.

I bought mine from Green Mfg.. I bought the Category II link, and use it on my Category I TC40D without problems. I do use a 1" to 7/8" bushing.

That's the problem... I don't have my TN yet. I have no idea what the lenghts open and closed for that tractor. I also would like to have the double pilot valves on the top link. My HTL that I have now has them. Its also possible the double pilot valve HTL is not avalible for cat II.

Your dealer should be able to help you get the open/closed length. If he doesn't have one on hand he should be able to get the data from another dealer or customer without too much trouble. As I said earlier, I bought the top link advertised from Prince for use on my TN65 and have had no problem with leakdown. Prince Hydraulics valve catalog lists a model RD1400 double piloted lock valve but I don't know the price. You might make a call to them and see what they would charge to add this to the top link they sell???
CCI is the only place I've seen the cylinders offered with the double piloted check valves, and they aren't shown as available in cat II.

Contact Jim McC at Integration Engineering(sales@integrationengineering.net). Their cylinders have check valves and the ends are different depending on the tractor. The ends also screw on so that if you change tractors you just order new screw on ends and keep the same cylinder. I am sure they could set you up with cat II ends.
