I have nothing againt the link itself, I just don't like the mis-leading marketing.

fwiw,
I'm new to true hydraulic powered top links. That said after looking at the Hyrdraulink videos the following comes to mind...

1. It looks like an ad blitz and smacks of misleading marketing. Though how much marketing is genuine these days...
2. Why would anyone with an extra SCV replace a standard top link for a Hydraulink over a true Hydraulic Top Link?
3. With pricing of true hydraulic top links where they are I see a very limited market for this product.

I think, dangerous as that can be, that if Hydraulink would come out and say this is basically a hydraulic shock absorber with the ability to move the implement down by gravity but requires a rise, ramp, etc. to bring the implement up, no one would have an issue with the product. Other than possibly what it is good for...YMMV

Regards, Matt.

Btw, the first hydraulic powered top link I have ever seen was on New CaseIH Magnum last year(250 HPish). Do believe that was a Cat 4 Hitch. That said it struck me as a good idea at the time...fwiw & imho

I disagree about the hyped marketing, the vendor may be pushing his product hard but who in their right mind would not push it to the full effect.
You need to read all of this forum and the link to another one on TBN and keep an open mind.

The vendor has explained his product in application fairly well, and there are a lot of detractors who have not even hardly looked at the videos and havent given the unit a chance at all in a real application, but a few people have bought them and have loved them, and I have not read one post where the purchaser wish they had not bought it.

Some poeple do not have rear hydros (me for one) and really do not want to spend money on them, and some older tractors you cannot even put them on if you wanted to.

I am just tired of all the bashing when people have a closed mind

Although I have no interest in this product (I have hydraulic top link) in any way...I have followed both the threads on this topic and IMO there is nothing (I repeat NOTHING) misleading about the promotion and or advertising...

Where I see the discrepancy among the critics is in their ability to comprehend exactly what is being presented...or their ability to understand plain English...

IMO, the convoluted criticism is off the wall...and misguided

It's probably a valid alternative to installing the extra hydraulics for a hydraulic top link. It probably won't lift a bush hog to quite as full height as with a hydraulic top link, but bet it'll be close.

Anyone have typical costs for installing the extra hydraulics plus the hydraulic top link? Bet it's more like $400-500 vs. $240 for this thing.

Same here and I agree. I would definitely look seriously at this solution if I had not already invested in a HTL. The cost to add a HTL to my BX, which is a lot cheaper than a full size CUT, started with $320 for a dual remote valve, pipes and levers, which is OEM and a bargain in my opinion, then another $200 +/- for the top link, hoses and quick connects. I've seen many a thread where dealers quote close to $1000 for a single rear remote.

I've watched all the vid's and feel comfortable that the top link can be retracted as explained - drop the implement to the ground and slowly pull forward. Until I hear from actual owners that it does not work as demonstrated, I'll believe what I see in the vid's. I just don't get how viciously this new solution for someone that needs an adjustable top link has been attacked. Give the guy a break. If you already have a hydraulic top link, then you're not going to think this solution is an equal, and it's not, nor is it being sold as such in my opinion.

As long as refunds are available to those who discover it's not what they thought it would be, I don't see a problem.

All you'll be out is some shipping $.

I'm kind of wondering why no one has come up with a 12 volt powered, self-contained electro-hydraulic toplink. Something like what is used to power trim tabs on boats. Now, that sounds like it would be a good alternative to a permanently plumbed hydraulic system.

I agree with the self contained 12 volt concept it woud be a true hydraulic then not. There must be reasons why there isnt one yet.
