Hydraulic top link question

Does anyone make something to give the top link an extra inch or two? Seems like a little extra length would come in handy once in awhile. Thanks!

Just curious, are you trying to use the same top link on multiple machines?

No, just got a new snowblower and i had to tilt the top side of the blower towards the tractor after hooking up the lower lift arms in order to attach the top link with the blower on a pallet. If there were some kind of extension that could be hooked onto the top link, it would have made it easier than tipping a 955lb blower.

If you can't find what you're looking for might try using a come-a-long from the tractor to the implement to raise it. When I hook up my fertilizer spreader it's kinda like you mentioned but luckily it's lite enough so I can use a small tie down strap to hold it when I pick it up, then hook up the top link.

The way a toplink is designed to rotate/pivot...and only one pin hole on each end....it would be hard to make an extension.

Cutting one end off and adding a piece is about the only way. But you may be better off just getting a longer toplink.

If this is your only implement that has an issue, it would probably be easier to modify the blower to put the toplink mount closer to the tractor

Thanks for all the replies. I put all my implements on dollies and the snowblower will go on one too. I'll make it so the blower is leaning a bit forward when sitting on the dolly so the top link mount on the blower will be lower and closer to the tractor. I think what's causing the problem is the top link mount on the blower is pretty high compared to my other implements since this blower is on the large side. It was even worse when it was on the pallet.

I can get the blower nice and level if I use the highest top link mount on the tractor side. The tractor has 3 mounting holes for the top link. Any problem with using the top one for a snowblower?

Make sure that the blower can still float to follow the ground when using that hole. I found that my bush hog would actually lift one rear wheel of the tractor off the ground when backing through a low spot when using the upper hole on an 830 Case tractor.
