Hydraulic Top Link?

It's hard to realize how very handy a hydraulic top link is - until you actually get one and use it. It's even harder to put into words. I got my Fit Rite in 2013.

I only see the need on a box grader. Other than that, it's see no need.

Well......lets see. I have six land engagement implements plus a chipper. It sure makes connecting the top link a whole lot easier. And I use it to fine tune each of the implements - while in use.

Rather than the implement working - just OK - - it can be tuned to perfection. Makes each of the implements work a whole lot better and easier.

If you like adjusting a manual top link - so be it.

In addition to all the above, a hyd. top link is also useful for controlling FEL attachments mounted with an adapter on the 3pt hitch. I find it's quite handy for adjusting the angle on a set of forks. It makes it a snap to lift a pallet, especially on uneven ground.

When moving material, I can put a FEL bucket on the 3pt and back into the pile. In addition to doubling the amount of material I can carry in a single trip, it also makes good rear ballast.

I also double the lift I can get with a 3pt boom.

As you previously mentioned, it's hard to put into words.

If I had never used one I'd want to remain blissfully unknowing.

Having used one for 12 years, I'll never be without.

How much have you used one, not much? I haven't either but it didn't take me long to realize how useful it would be on things other than the box blade on, especially when I put the boom pole on that tractor with the hydraulic top link.

I have operated lots of 3point equipment with and without a hydraulic top link, I very highly prefer having the hydraulic top link. But It definitely costs more money.

I also added tilt to my Kubota. At the time of installing it I added a Quick Hitch. I've never took them off in the last 11 years.

I think the cost justification has to be a personal thing. Some members here rarely use their 3pt or maybe only use it in limited situations.

If a member uses their 3pt on a wide range of implements, as has been mentioned here multiple times, TnT becomes a blessing.

I have used one plenty. Like I said, box grader needs one. I moved 130 cubic yards in one day. Pulled it up with the box grader, had two dump trucks hauling it, loaded by two skid steers. I know it was 130 because I had figured the needed volume plus 20% addition for compaction of loose fill. Everything worked out, so my 130 number was fine.

Well, evidently, based on your assessment of the need for a top link, your use has been very limited. :)
