I've been wanting to build something like this for a while and after finally being able to use my new M7060 on Sunday moving snow I decided now was the time. I move snow commercially at 85 places ranging from small single car driveways to commercial parking lots of 1-2 acres and have been looking for something to speed up the process. As well as the new tractor worked it was pretty frustrating having so much traction and hp but only a 6 foot bucket to clear the large areas. So yesterday I started building a snow pusher. The main mold board is 34" high and 7 feet wide. Attached to each side is going to be 30" wings that are hydraulically adjusted 180 degrees. Hope to have this done in the next couple of days and i will post pics as work progresses.

Are you going to have it trip, or use a rubber edge? We have a HLA Snowwing at work (HLA Snow) and the guys who use it love it.

Neither. Making it a fixed steel edge, Simple and effective as long as the operator is careful. I have used rubber edge pushers before and was very disappointed with there performance so it was never even considered. I have always just used buckets for snow removal which obviously don't have any trip mechanism so that is my reasoning for make the blade that way.

Bit more progress this afternoon until I ran out of .030 wire in my mig so I called it a day. Hopefully get the wings attached tomorrow.

Nice, I look forward to the "wings" design, I'd like to attach "one" on mine and have it removable from side to side to push back snow banks etc.

Funny, I was just looking at my plow blade yesterday and this idea came to mind. Pondered for a while about how I would go about it. I also didn't know that there were commercially available ones. I thought i was so creative for thinking of it...

Little bit of progress this morning. Hopefully my steel guy can get the material cut for the wings and hinge this afternoon. 20150107_122526.jpg

Side view. I was trying to keep it as close to the tractor as possible. 20150107_122612.jpg
