hydraulic wing snow pusher

Finally got the rest of the material I need for this project. Had to wait a few days for the 400F Cutting edge to come in is why I've been held up. So I got to work this afternoon and got one side wing attached. The other side should be a cinch now so I'll get it on in the morning then get to work making them swing hydraulically.

The sides a way overkill but that's better than too weak i guess. 32" high by 30" deep 3/8 steel plate and the cutting edge is 6" ﾗ1/2 hardened steel. The hinge is 3/4" rod inside 3/8" wall tubing.

A friendly suggestion; maybe bevel the front edge of the wing so that it doesn't want to dig in.

Or use a flexible edge for the wing part?

I used aluminum on my rear blade wings with bolts and slots so that it can follow the surface contour while still cleaning well.

Nice work! I'm thinking about building a pusher for my Cat 246 skid steer.I have a few commercial accounts.I have An 8ft fisher plow...was thinking of adding a pivot and 2 ft wings to get an 8ft pusher or 12 ft straight plow....

Been busy lately but managed make a bit of progress yesterday. Pretty much have one side buttoned up. Other side should be a snap now that i have a template.

Bit more progress this afternoon. Got the hinges done on both sides. All that's left is to add some gussets and finish welding everything. Hopefully it'll see primer tomorrow afternoon.
