typically there is no fix to spool leakage unless the spool is not being spring centered correctly. The spool slides in the mating bore in the cast valve housing the clearance between spool and bore along with amount of overlap of spool lands on the casting lands is what determines leakage. Roundness of both items is also a factor.
Do not install 600 PSI rated valves in a 3000 PSI system. Some function will have them at pressure higher than 600 and then you will have a blown apart valve.
