I've read my manual twice now or more and don't see where it says the specs of what to use other than the new holland brand NH134.
What specifications are listed on the container of the TSC oil you want to buy?

Excellent question.
It's not the manufacturer's responsibility to provide cross-referencing information for alternative sources of fluids and filters when they desire to be the end user's sole source for those consumables. The burden of proof lies with the aftermarket sources to provide assurances that their products will sufficently protect the machines they are used in.

A 5 gallon bucket of 134 is like $60. Is it really worth saving $10-15 at TSC when you don't know what your getting. Its going into a $20,000 tractor!

Neil, I agree with you. I've used other oils that are compliant to the 134 spec and I like the NH 134 better. That being said, I also wish I could buy as conveniently at my NH dealer as I do at TSC. Every day I drive by my NH dealer at 6:00 pm and he is closed up tight. Right down the road is a TSC that is open until 8:00 pm or later.

I wish my NH dealer would stay open just one night a week until 8:00 pm when I could stop on the way home from work and buy from him. I mail ordered filters from you because it seems I could never get to my dealer. Your service is great, but I don't want to pay shipping on two pails of 134.:( Convenience is a big thing with me because my time is so precious. I just find it inconvenient to get up on Saturday morning and drive 50 miiles round trip to buy oil and filters. I have to believe others are in the same "boat."

I'm over 50 miles from one of Messick's locations and to 'avoid' this problem, I buy all the oil, filters and fluid I need for a year on a single trip.

Jim, I'm in a similar situation.. except I'm more like 45miles 1-WAY from my dealer.

To reply to messick, vs the "15$" price difference on oil.. You are not taking into account quantity. Sure If I only had to to buy 1-pail.. 15$ isn't too bad to pay for a dealers oil.. but when you have to buy.. say.. 8 pails or more at a time.. that 15$ per pail difference adds up.

Used to be true blue and buy all the consumables at the New Holland dealer.

Now with gas being 4 bucks a gallon and my dealer some 1-1/2 hours away I shop Napa for hydro oil and filters and WalMart for Synthetic oil for the crankcase.

I don't think the tractor knows the difference and I'm not telling her either.

I still grab most of my filters from the dealer.. ( some of em i have to.. I don't even think there is a cross for the big 1gallon hyd filter on my 7610s.. or at least I've never found one for it.. etc.. ).. However.. the oils.. my dealer is a bit steep on the oil.. a single 5g pail of 134 cost as much as my crankcase, air*, fuel and hyd filter together.. ( air is inner/outter.. outter gets replaced every time.. inner every other time. so.. only figuring outter in this price comparison.. not both.. figuring both kicks the filters 20$ higer than the single pail of oil..Of which I'd need 3 of anyway.. just for that machine alone)..

I don't see in this thread M2C134 spec repeatedly quoted only offered as a possibility by you. And you're on target, you don't have my manual or tractor. I don't need your advise when questioning my ability to read. Just looking for some friendly advise not off the cuff remarks.

You don't supose the Nh134 might have anything to do with the M2C134 spec that has been repeatedly quoted here do you?
