After I disked the garden a few days ago I rinsed the polled off the tractor and then backed it into the carport to tighten a loose bolt on the disk. I did and pulled it back to the shed. There was some mud and water as I expected. I swept the dirt up and saw the "wet spot" . Later that night walking through the carport I was thinking why hasn't that water evaporated. Put my finger it in and it was oil. Hydro oil. Probably several ounces worth. Walk out to the tractor and see the axle center section/trans were wet. Couldn't really tell other than. It was from up top . Flipped the seat forward and noticed e the seal around the chrome button on the 3pt valve was popped out. Letting fluid run out. I checked the fluid it was low but I was also parked on a slight incline. I could see the fluid and it looks just barely low, no problems with the 3pt obviously cause that sucks from the bottom. Next day I took a screw driver and was able to use the shat of it to work around the seal and press it back in even. Used it that afternoon and it stayed in place, not sure what made it pop out though? I'm guessing I'm a quart or two low on fluid. Which reminds me I need to find m fluid and add to it.
Just sharing one of those odd but easily fixable things we run across with these old tractors. If the seal was bad I believe I have one in my old 3pt valve I believe I saved and the one I put in there wasn't that many years old I could probably disassemble it and pop it out for use if needed.
