What a week it's been.... I found the tool I needed and took the hub off. Sure enough, the seal is soaked. You can see the puddle of oil in front of the seal. See the attachment.
That was the good news.
The bad news...no seal kit available in the US! Yeah, like I'm supposed to believe that?!! What I was told was the kit is on backorder(no stock in the US) and the expected release date is the end of the month. Then I was told that if >>If I paid the freight<< the kit could be ordered ov'nite. "SAY WHAT?????? Bad enough I tear this thing down myself, now you people expect me to pay the express freight? What ever...order it, I'll cover the freight and deal with that issue later".
Now I'm told that the kit will not be shipped from overseas until the *18th*!!. This is getting truly ridiculous... so for now, I asked NH to pull one from the assembly plant and I'll have to wait until Monday to find out. What a joke...What a stinkin joke this has turned out to be. I should of have canceled this deal back when I first learned my TC21D wasn't fixed, and not traded it in. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
At this point, I'll have to wait until I actually have a seal in my hand before I remove the failed one. The shaft spins true and straight, so unless it's scored or nicked, the seal is at fault. Even though it leaks, the tractor will still operate if I have to reassemble it. NH is going to have to do something pretty substantial for me if they expect to keep me as a customer...and they know it too!
