Is it OK to change the filter and just add an equal amount of hydro oil to refill to the full mark. In checking my records there is only about 200 hours on the existing trans oil.

CC mostly uses Hydrogear pumps and Hydrogear specs regular multigrade motor oil for fluid.

That would be a 10w50?

Dixie Chopper told us to use Mobile 1 5w-30w

Yes, if the tractor is stored indoors and kept dry. Hydro oil sees no corrosive combustion blow-by particulates, and the primary degrading factor is usually moisture picked up from sittig outdoors.

Many run the same hydro oil for 10 years at a time, with no issues. In fact, I think the ATF I dumped out of the hydro unit on my last Cub Cadet 123 had been in there at least 40 years, and still looked really good. Very minimal "jelly" in the bottom of the diff.

I change the hydro oil in my tractor on the specified interval, which I think is about 600 hours, but I'd need to go pull my files to confirm. I change the hydro oil in my log splitter every 10th year.

The reason you change your engine oil once or twice per year, even if accumulated hours are way below specified interval, is to flush out potentially-corrosive compounds that collect in the oil due to piston blow-by, not because the oil itself has lost any desirable physical properties.

Actually the depletion of the additive package in quality hydraulic oil (not the cheap TSC junk either), depletes from the heat-cool cucles the fluid goes through.

Hydraulic oil (quality stuff) will have moisture dispersants as well as seal conditioners in it and those degrade with heat-cool cycles and need to be renewed at certain intervals, those intervals specified by the particular manufacturer of the unit you own.
