Hydro only on the new JD 4720

I'm wondering if the new 20 series eHydros are using the same controller as the 10s? I sure hope so. The more they have out there, the longer they'll be in supply. Also it should, and I emphasize should, keep the price down.

I think Deere is in a category of their own when it comes to supporting discontinued equipment - although the electronic bits on newer tractors could be a bit problematic.

If you track down the controller part # for the ten series on the JDParts site you can cross-match it ("where used") and that will tell you if it carries over or not.

That's what I like best about JD. I can pick up service parts for my 20 year old garden tractor at the dealer, often without even ordering them. And I can see exploded parts diagrams for the whole tractor online for free. I can't think of any other mfg I could say that about. Now if they would just make their manuals a little cheaper, I would be REALLY happy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

At my place hydros sell over geared but we don't sell that many compacts to begin with. The 790 is a good seller for us despite the fact it is an older design and gear drive.

I agree, I recently got a voltage regulator for my 'ol 1050 which has been out of production since '90??? Somthing like that... Nice to get an exact version of what I took off.

P.S. 17volts will make a battery explode...
