I have a 2210 and was unsure where the filter screen is on it. So I took a pic of where I think it is.

Am I right or going in the wrong direction?

Right. Probably will need to pry it off once the bolts are out. Clean both surfaces, reassemble with #2 permatex. Drain transmission first or you will get soaked. Hopefully the picture you posted really needs to be rotated 90* clockwise.

I shot the pic by holding the cam sideways forgetting to rotate it afterwards. Either that or my tractor sleeps on its side:eek:

Looks like the right spot to me. I just changed and cleaned my YM226, does seem to do better. It says in the manual to use the tractor and get the hyd oil hot and stop, then the sediment will be suspended (in filter). Before you open the drain plug ***open the dip stick and release pressure in it; if you don't you will get covered in hyd oil, like I did... It should be around 3 to 4 gallons of hyd oil.. When I removed my filter cover it did not have a gasket. I cleaned the surface and installed it back without anything on it. It is not leaking at all.... Have fun working on your TOY!!!
