Hi there

Here we go again.

Guy claims to improve gas milage about 25% extracting hydrogen from water as we drive. I guess it's a scam. What do you folks think?

BMC Introduces the H²O Atomizer

Something is gonna happen in the form of a breakthrough. There are a lot of people now working on things. probably the best will come from someones back yard garage.

Cheers

Even if it only took (it doesn't) the same amount of energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen as you would get back recombining it back into water by burning it in your engine the net energy gain would be zero.

Considering that their conversion process, your engine and alternator are all less than 100% efficient it sounds like the best you could hope for would be not to ruin your engine.

There was a water spray used in aircraft engines around WW2 but I believe that it was to cool combustion during full throttle to prevent detonation (knock) & did not split the water into hydrogen & oxygen.

Your mileage may vary

The AV8-B Harrier Jump Jet uses water injection to cool the jet engine while in hover. It only carries enough water for a couple of minutes of hover though.

This looks like a great big scam to me. The fact that it says it only uses a pint of water for every few thousand miles just sounds like it can't possibly be producing enough H2 to be useful as a fuel.

I was all set to order a unit for my tractor when I noticed it require 25 amps and the tractor dynamo only puts out 15 amps. Bummer:eek:

you got a better chance of running you engine by converting beans into methane.

I kinda agree will all of the above. So, how do they get away with it? I think my son-in-law ran across this offer because they are selling one on Ebay. I'm not sure though.

About 30 years ago I read a newspaper article about some guy who had done something to a small ford that improved his gas mileage to like 70 mpg. It was reported he drove from Titusville, Fla. to Washington D.C, He wanted to show it to Congress or something like that. I never heard anything since. Of course, the story always: Some oil company bought the idea and buried it. Sometime you just wonder.

Cheers

This country was built on scams--Social Security, for instance. That's what makes it so great...scams are limited only by human imagination and gullibility (which is apparently unlimited).

Social security a scam? :) :) "Dang, they're on to me."

How about the ultimate scam: fractional reserve banking. I think we should go back to male deer hides. At least they were always worth a buck.

Well....there is no reason that you can't split water into hydrogen. It's done all the time. All it takes is energy. If you could harness the wasted energy that an engine produces to split water into hydrogen then you could have a container of hydrogen. What you would use the hydrogen for in a diesel engine, I have no idea. My Kubota burns diesel, not hydrogen. Hmmm....maybe you could carry around an oxidizer and turn your tractor into a rocket, lol.... Hmmm...what size nozzle do I need for that?

Bruce Crower of Crower Cams has been working on a 6 stroke engine. It adds two strokes to a conventional engine in which water is injected into the cylinder thereby turning the additional two strokes into (more or less) a steam engine.

There is actually alot of interesting technology going on in the engine field. Everything from modern steam engines to 92 % efficient gun engines to almost 100% efficient Rotary Compressed-Air Motor's.
