Quick question.....does anyone other than Deere use the side by side 2 pedal set-up for their Hydro trannys? It seems like everyone else uses the long toe/heel single pedal. After trying both set-ups, I (and the family CFO ) prefer the side by side arrangment.

Some of the NewHolland TC models and their CaseIH DX cousins do - I think the TC35 and TC40, if I remember right.

Yes, Kioti and the larger NH TC models / Case DX models.

From what I've seen the twin pedal arrangement is at least as if not more common than the treadle used by Kubota.

The Kubota L40's are a hybrid of the two. I spend a lot of time on all kinds of tractors, and this has been my favorite.

Mahindra uses two pedals, one if front for the toe and on behind for the heel.

Powertrac in a weird sort of way. Forward on the right of the wheel, reverse on the left floorboard. It is a rocker system but not toe - heel...

TYM has a two pedal hydro. As did the TYM sourced Mahindra hydro's.

The new hst with its new relocated pedal on Kubota's system is much better on the40 vs 30 series. I looked at JD but I just liked the Kubota better. I thought it was much quieter but both great tractors.

My late 70's International 2500b had seperate forward and reverse pedals on the left side. That made the seperate brake pedals on the right side ACTUALLY USABLE! For the life of me, I can not figure out why anyone would put the brakes AND directional controls on the same side. That is just a crummy design.

My Power Trac has a right pedal for forward and a left pedal for reverse. That is a great setup, too. I have no brakes on that unit at all. If I had brakes, I would prefer the setup on the IH that I mentioned above.

My Mahindra/TYM has the two pedal hydro on the right with the parking brake, and the steer brakes on the left.

Wow, I didn't realize that many used the 2 pedal setup. I thought I had pretty much checked out most brands (at least on the net) and thought most were of the toe/heel variety. I'm on vacation this week and hoping to get by a few places and possibly even make a decision and get one ordered.

Hyster used to have a brake pedal on the left that was also the forward/reverse selector. Push right side of pedal for forward, left side for reverse (it was a rocker mechanism), push harder for brake. Worked great when you got used to it. This was on a forklift when I worked in the warehouse for P&G Dallas back in the early 80's.

I wouldn't mind having the brakes on the other side but you have to take your foot off the HST pedal before braking anyways. I never found it a problem. I like the idea of the two pedal HST but I think that would be a lot more foot movement then the rocker pedal design. To each his own...

There is no clutch on the JD's. The PTO is turned on/off electrically, so there is no need for a clutch.

I have a 15 series Mahindra and the clutch is on the left and used only for selecting the power range while stopped only. It also must be fully depressed to start the engine. All the remaining pedals are on the right. It would be difficult to use the throttle and wheel brake to turn at the same time but most times I have it in 4 wheel drive and wheel braking wouldn't help it turn much if at all. The set up works for me especially since my left leg dosen't function very well anyway.
