Bitts,
The real trick with the roses (although a loose cut bunch is just as effective) is to send them out of the blue, for absolutely no reason, about once a month or so. They might get you more mileage that way. Who knows, you may want another implement in the future!

In my opinion, the only drawback to the B7100 (if there is one) is the lack of power steering. Otherwise, a fine little machine.

I bought a early 90's B7100 last May and I have to agree with what everyone else has said. Its a tough little machine. I have the R1 tires w/ snow chains right on right now and its "almost" unstoppable. The few things I don't like about it are
1) the lack of power steering, when i'm doing loader work the narrow R1's and the heavy front end will take control of the wheel if you don't hang on real tight. Also, it really hurts if the wheel gets away from you and you don't get your hand out of the way quick enough.

2) It seems farily tippy to me, I've had a rear wheel come off the ground while driving more then once, its not a fun feeling. I plan to fill the tires this summer to help with stability. The one your looking at has tires which should increase the stability.

3) The exhust blows right back a the operator. But I noticed the same problem on my neighbors new L series so I guess thats just the way it is, I may relocate my exahust just to make it a little better.

Overall, my only regret is I didn't buy one sooner. I hope you enjoy your's as much as I enjoy mine.

The B7100HST 4WD is one GREAT machine.

The B7100 was my very first Kubota, before moving on to a BX22, then a BX23, then a BX24. When you are ready for another design, it will be very easy to sell.

The B7100 is not only extremely solid, it is also legendary. As far as I know, it is the only model that Kubota was compelled to re-introduce in North America, when sales of their new replacement models failed to take off.

:D Looks in good shape. You will pay 3 times for something new. The manual stearing will just take gettng used to.

Why buy an underpowered, manual steering tractor with technology that is 20 years old? Take a look at a Mahindra 2015 and compare the weights, the lift capacity, etc. The Mahindra is built by Mitsubishi and is an excellent tractor.

Ok............. I have been getting opinions on a Kubota b7100 and they have all been saying they are grweat machines especially for the price i need to come up with, now I here about a Mahindra 2015.

I looked it up and it looks like it will cost me 3X more (w/ blower)

Would this tractor be 3 times better than the b7100?

Take another close look at this B7100 HST 4WD... take it for a real test drive. Then ask yourself if it meets all of the real "NEEDS" that you have. If the answer is "no" then forget about it and look elsewhere. However, if the answer is "YES", then you're one step closer to actually buying it.

Before you do, take a look at other competing tractors such as the BX22, Mahindra, etc... and ask yourself if they offer a lot more of what you might "WANT" and at what cost.

Calculate the difference in costs between what you "need" and what you might "want". Now ask yourself if what you "want" is worth all that extra money over what you really "need".

I can find a Kubota dealer plus others in my area but have not seen a Mahindra dealer. :D
